1902-1971

Maurice McCarten was born in New Zealand. He was an outstanding jockey in New Zealand and in Australia. Maurice moved to Sydney and started a new career becoming one of Australia's successful racehorse trainers. He won many major races including the Melbourne Cup with Delta.
