TRAINER PROFILES

GAI WATERHOUSE

Since 1978 Gai Waterhouse has worked full-time alongside her father at historic Tulloch Lodge benefiting from his knowledge and training methods. In 1992 she obtained her licence and eventually became a leading trainer at Randwick creating her own training style.
Gai Waterhouse successfully combines hard work, training begins 3.15am, knowledge and an understanding of horses to create racing champions. She also established herself among the world’s most respected trainers. The stables had great success with reasonably priced yearlings including Juggler who was bought for $38,000 and won over $2.4 million and four Group One races.
Gai Waterhouse holds open days at the stables and encourages her clients to participate and they are welcome to attend track work and barrier trials. Some high-profile international owners include San Miguel Chairman and major AJC sponsor Eduardo Cojuangco and His Excellency Nasser Lootah of Dubai.
Gai Waterhouse operates from the ultra-modern Bounding Away Stables on Doncaster Avenue with direct access to Randwick racetrack while Tulloch Lodge serves as headquarters.
