THOMPSON FAMILY

John Thompson established the Widden Stud in the Hunter Valley, NSW in 1867. Since then seven generations of the Thompson family have raised thoroughbred horses including some of the finest stallions and broodmares in Australia. The famous Kingston Town was foaled at Widden Stud.
Alfred Thompson and his son Frank served at the Committee of the Australian Jockey Club for many years.
