At Jarrara Park they pride themselves on their attention to detail and the pursuit of excellence in all facets of young horse training. Wayne & Penny Austin offer breaking-in, schooling and re-education of horses for all disciplines. They start all horses using proven non-violent methods. They are very careful with young horses mouths and allow the horses to search for and accept the bit in their own time. They seek to understand each horses temperament, treating them as individuals, and take the extra time to produce a calm, confident horse. All horses leave Jarrara Park after breaking-in with a sound understanding of the basic aids in all gaits, working in straight lines and circles, with and without other horses. They never take shortcuts and work hard to turn out horses that they know you will be thrilled with. Their starting program includes daily grooming, rugging, floattruck loading and farrier handling as well as work under saddle. Horses often stay on for further training in preparation for their competition carriers.
